Day Designer Mini Review

I recently got this planner few days ago. I was debating if I wanted the flagship (big, original size) or a mini. I’ve always wanted to try out Day Designer planners but when I saw that there’s times on the left hand side, I didn’t know what to add into them since my life isn’t so busy that I schedule by the hour. As I looked through Instagram and checked out #daydesigner, I was amazed by so many creativity being done to this planner. Now do I have planner peace? Nope, haven’t found it yet but I know it’s somewhere.

What caught my attention was how gorgeous this cover was and how simple the inserts were. I’m not really a fan of colorful inserts in a planner. I much rather have it black and white than add my own colors when I feel like it. I’m not sure if you guys feel this way but when I see planners with existing color choice… I get a little anxious on trying to match it. Anyways, enough with my planner OCD… let’s get to the review!

I have to say, this planner was well packaged! Just the care of it makes me feel like they understand how us planner girls feel about our planners, haha. It came in a regular white packaging box (assuming that’s how Belle and Blush ships this item) and inside of that came this teal box that you can pull out. I love that you can totally re-use this box and place it on your desk or anywhere. As you open the box, you can see that it was in bubble wrap and the planner was in a clear plastic that’s IN the bubble wrap. It also came with these two cards about your planner and talks about the company.

The coils are in gold and very very very sturdy. At first, I was afraid because I do want to bring this around with me everywhere I go so I wasn’t sure if it was strong enough to be tossed around and still hold its shape. The cover as well is very sturdy and strong so definitely no fears of ruining that. The blush pink is to DIE for. The size is perfect for me since I don’t have a busy schedule as others so there’s plenty of room to write. At the end of the blog, you’ll see a sample of my month at-a-glance and one of the days filled out.

The tabs on the side are gold and laminated. I love that it’s not large and tucked away so it won’t get ruined when it’s in your purse.

Here’s what one of the month at-a-glance looks like. Again, I LOVE the simplicity of this. No color, just plain black and white. I can totally add some color stamping or stickers to help brighten up my planner a little bit. I just love that I can be creative with this.

Here’s what all of the inserts look like. On the top, there’s the date with a nice little motivation quote than to the middle, there’s today’s top three, due, dinner, dollars and don’t forget. I know some days for me, I can totally fill those in but some days, I might not have anything so I can always cover it with washi or stickers or just leave it. After that, there’s two columns: Today and To-Do. The hours for Today are from 7AM to 7 PM. Now the flagship planner is from 5 AM to 9 PM. If you’re definitely a hourly kind of person than I would recommend the bigger version or if your day starts early and days end late. After the two columns, there’s Notes and Daily Gratitude. I think those are always great to have just in case you need to jot something down real quick if your To-Do section is kinda full. The Daily Gratitude section is also nice for a good reminder for you or maybe a nice quote you saw somewhere that you would like to add.
