Current Beauty Favorites

My first beauty favorites post! I love sharing my go-to beauty items so hopefully these will also be you guys’ favorite too. As a makeup junkie, you always gotta have the new NEW stuff as you want to try it out. I haven’t been to Sephora in a few months now so I feel like I’m missing out but it’s okay… holiday collections should be out soon! Most of my beauty favorites are high-end products only because I seem to gravitate to Sephora (used to work there few years back and let me tell ya, their gratis are the best!) the most but I do have some drugstore items in here too. Okay enough of my rambles, let’s get to my current beauty favorites!

[ FACE ]

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette ($55): This was limited edition and I’m not sure where you can get it but I would definitely try and check your nearest Sephora and see if they still have some. I know online was all sold out but when I went to my nearest Sephora store, they had TONS so it doesn’t hurt to try. I absolutely LOVE this palette! You have three blushes (Amaretto, Pamplemousse, & Rose Spritz) and two highlighters (Champagne Pop & Prosecco Pop). This is great for traveling and it’s ALWAYS in my makeup bag. I use Rose Spritz the most out of the three blush. It gives me this pretty rosy cheeks for my skin tone and I mixed Champagne & Prosecco Pop together to give me this beautiful highlighting glow. You can always get the blushes in the new Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection that’s out right now at Sephora!

Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette ($46): So I have to admit, I bought this when it first came out, when it was super hyped… I returned it. For some reason at that time, I did not like it. I don’t know if it was a bad batch or what but it looked muddy on me. Fast forward until now, I decided to give it another chance since I had a birthday gift card to Sephora so I thought, why not? Things just deserves a second chance right? Well now it’s in my makeup bag and it’s what I use every day when I put on makeup. You get three lighting powders (Lucid, Lyric & Levitation) and three bronzers (Sombre, Shadowplay & Subconscious). For my skintone which is Mac NC30/NC35 for reference, I would use Lyric for the lighting powder and Shadowplay to bronze my face and Subconscious to contour. It definitely shapes my face so well and it has everything I need to bronze my face on the go! You also get a lot of product for what you pay for which is awesome.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Duo Mat Powder Foundation ($34): My favorite go-to foundation right now is this duo mat powder foundation from MUFE. I have used this foundation for many years and it’s my holy grail powder foundation. This is GREAT for combo to oily skin and I’m in the color 205 – Medium Beige. I’ve seen a lot of people using a brush to apply this foundation but surprisingly, I use the sponge applicator that it came with. It works really well applying it to my face and the sponge applicator holds up pretty well after using it a lot. The only downside about using the sponge is that I have to constantly build up the foundation to have good full coverage so I might try the brush next time to see if there’s any difference. I have used this everyday for work and it would hit pan after about 2.5 months or so. It lasted pretty well for how much I use it. I definitely recommend this powder foundation for those with combo to oily skin and just needs something really quick for on the go!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation ($8): My favorite liquid foundation of ALL times has this be Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. It’s affordable, full coverage, and looks flawless on skin. I have combo to oily skin so this works really well for me. The coverage is beyond awesome and it’s really easy to apply. Though you need to apply fast or it dries up quickly. I used a beauty blender to apply this foundation on my face. I usually dot around my face as I go on so it doesn’t leave weird dot marks if I don’t get to that spot sooner. I’m in the shade Natural Beige – 220. If you’re on a budget for foundation then I highly recommend this one. You get more bang for the buck for sure!

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Powder ($11): This is the powder I used to set my liquid foundation. It keeps my face matte throughout the day. I wish they would take the little sponge out and add more powder to this compact for the price but overall, it’s still a great powder! I have the shade in Natural Beige.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade ($18): This my ride or die brow product for sure! I have the color in Granite and I’ve been using it for some time now. This jar has lasted so long so far and I had it for almost a year! I use it every single day and it’s just amazing. I use an angled liner brush or you can use the brow brush and it applies very well. The only thing is because I use Granite which is a black color, you need to go easy on applying. If you apply too much, it will look like you’ve drawn your eyebrows with a sharpie. Definitely a little goes a long way with this product and I tend to have oily brows so this thing stay put for hours!

BECCA Ultimate Coverage Concealing Crème ($32): I recently purchased this few months ago after searching for a good concealer. I’ve only tried highlighters and blush products so I was curious to try more of BECCA’s line. I’ve used this concealer for about a month and it’s already my favorite! I have this in the shade Banana and it’s full coverage. I have some dark circles due to lack of sleep so I’ll dap a little in the pot and put it under my eyes and viola, it covers it SO well.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ($7): One of my favorite drugstore concealer that I use religiously is Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Light. I think this is a great dupe for Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. It’s affordable and does what it’s supposed to do. I usually apply this under my eyes, side of my nose, and any acne spots I want to cover. My BECCA concealer is my go-to but it’s also expensive so I’ll only use that on special occasions. I would replace that with this Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. It blends very well and goes on smoothly. I know some people use this as a highlighter but I definitely use this to conceal one days that I use make-up everyday.

[ EYES ]

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($20): Back in 2008 when my love for makeup grew… I wonder why my eyeshadow would creased so much on my lids and I was just so mad! After watching barely any YouTube makeup videos since there weren’t many at the time, most of them have recommended UD primer potion. I didn’t understand it but heck, I went and bought it. Well I’ll be damn, this product is seriously one of the best eyeshadow primer ever. Once I applied it, my eyeshadows would last ALL day. My friends always complement on how well it last and asked what was the “secret”? Well my friends, it’s this magical potion. I couldn’t live my life without so forever and always this UD primer potion.

Lorac PRO Matte Palette ($28): You guys! This is my absolute favorite matte palette ever! It’s slim (as in almost ever Lorac’s palettes) and you can dress it up or dress it down with the colors. I wear this every single day and I love it! It blends so easy and the colors are super pigmented.

Lorac PRO Palette 3 ($44): Love love love LOVE Lorac PRO palettes. I have every single Lorac PRO palettes and I always gravitate towards them every time I do my makeup. The first one, I hit pan on almost every shade… it’s THAT good. When I heard that Lorac was going to release a 3rd one, I was so excited. True to Lorac PRO palettes, they’re super pigmented, easy to blend, and so buttery smooth! This one I felt like had cool and warm tones which is perfect. The colors are so beautiful and it’s great for this upcoming fall season. I mostly used the 1st row but sometimes I’ll add a little shimmer to the center of my lids to give it a little pop! It’s also great for night time when I’m wearing it during the day and add some of the dark colors to give it more of an evening look. If you guys haven’t tried to the Lorac PRO palette, I definitely recommend the 1st one or this one. Their 3rd mega pro palette also will be coming out soon for the holidays! Can’t wait!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($20): I have friends asking me what eyeliner do I recommend and I always say KVD tattoo liner in Trooper. I’ve used this eyeliner for several years and it always give me the perfect cat eye. I wouldn’t say this eyeliner is waterproof but it’s very black. I just love how pointy the tip is and it’s so easy to create a cat eye in minutes. Gel liners used to be my go-to but there’s just something about this liquid liner that gives my eyes life. Sometime Sephora has this liner as a reward so if you see one, I definitely would try it out first and see if you like it… that’s what I did and was in love.

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara ($24): I’ve always been a huge fan of Benefit Cosmetics’ mascaras. My first and forever be my favorite is the They’re Real! mascara. They came out with this Roller Lash mascara last year and you know I had to try it. It curls my non-existent Asian lashes and makes them look very beautiful! It’s now in my makeup bag and it’s great for when I just want a natural look. Definitely recommend!

Andrea Lash Twin Pack #33 ($6): I’ve tried so many lashes and nothing compares to this one. This is my ride or die lashes and I don’t think I want to try any other ones. It’s bold but not too bold to where you can wear it everyday. I usually cut the ends of it to match the length of my eyes and used the Duo lash glue. These lashes lashed pretty long… about 10-15 use depending how well you care for them. I do noticed if you cry with these lashes on, it doesn’t last that well.

[ LIPS ]

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20): This was my first ever liquid lipstick I’ve ever own. When I worked for Sephora, I had KvD Outlaw in my gratis which I didn’t know until I dig it out of the bag few weeks later haha. Oh my goodness, Outlaw is beyond gorgeous brick red color which goes well with a lot of skin tones. I honestly just love all of KvD liquid lipstick colors. My favorites are definitely Lolita, Lolita ll, Outlaw, and Bow & Arrow. I suggest exfoliating your lips and make sure your lips are well hydrated because they tend to dry out your lips as most liquid lipsticks do.

Kylie Cosmetics Candy K Liquid Lipstick ($17): I can’t stop putting this liquid lipstick down. It’s such a beautiful shade and I’m so happy she sells them separately from the lip kits. It smells like cake or cupcakes which doesn’t hurt and very easy to apply with the doe foot applicator. It last pretty long as long as you don’t eat anything greasy but definitely have your lips hydrated as it can dry out your lips. I always get compliment on this lip color and she has some other beautiful colors as well!

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm ($3.50): This is a great and affordable lip balm. I have it in Summer Fruit and it smells SO good. It keeps my lips hydrating and very soothing. I also love the sphere shape so it’s easy to apply all over your lips.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment ($24): I received this in my gratis when I used to work for Sephora and fell in LOVE. My goodness, this thing kept my lip SO hydrating throughout the day. The price may be scary as why would you spend $24 for a lip balm but I promise you, it’s worth it! Not only does it keep your lips hydrated but it last really really long. It lasted for a year for me after using it every day. A little goes a long way with this one and they have tinted one as well. I got the untinted one and the finish is satin so it has a little shine.

[ HAIR ]

Batiste Dry Shampoo ($8): Love this dry shampoo! I’ve tried many and so far in my opinion, I think this one is the best! I usually spray it on my roots and use a comb to comb it out. It definitely helps the grease in my hair and make it look like it’s just been washed that same day! My favorite is the Cherry & Original scent. They also have the color ones but not a fan as it leaves marks on my forehead.

Clear Extreme Damage Relief Shampoo ($5): I’ve used this drugstore shampoo brand for years! The smell is amazing and it made my hair so soft. They also have other types of shampoo depending on your hair needs!

[ SKIN CARE ]

Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer ($12): I’ve gotten this in a travel size just to test out this moisturizer. I’ve heard many great things about it on YouTube and I have to say… they are right! It moisturizes my face throughout the day and not leaving my face feeling greasy at all. With this one, a little goes a long way for sure. I just dap 5 spots (forehead, nose, both cheeks, and chin) on my face and it’s good to go! Once this travel size is done, I’m definitely going to get the actual bottle!

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes ($4.50): I’ve used this makeup remover wipes for YEARS. I absolutely love it and it takes away ALL my makeup. It always leave my face feeling so soft and it’s just great. I highly recommend it and the price is great for what it is.
